High Court allows Texas gerrymandering
As expected, the U.S. Supreme Court on Friday refused to block Texas from holding congressional elections next fall under a gerrymandered new map designed by House majority leader Tom DeLay that could cost the Democrats as many as six House seats. Yet another act of cowardice from the High Court. The news media will give this little play, assuming it's a story about Texas politics when what really has happened is the hijacking of our national legislature by a group of extremists.
