When will we get a Maureen Dowd RSS feed?

A few of us are once again advocating the increased use of RSS and Atom feeds by news publications on the online-news mailing list. One idea that folks have proposed over the years, and that Amy Gahran smartly raises again, is this:

Offer feeds according to specific writer. For instance, every newspaper has its roster of top writers -- columnists, investigative reporters, etc. I suspect that many readers would love to get a feed announcing the latest work of specific writers -- but I've yet to see a news site which offers that option.

Yes! Yes! Yes! I want my Maureen Dowd, Eric Alterman and Howie Kurtz, Peter Lewis, David Shaw and Dave Barry RSS feeds! Why is this so hard for media organizations to grasp? We want our news our way.

If you're a news or media organization and want to set this up, contact me at the Social Media Group.
