Today's blogger meetup at KRON
Today I attended a wonderful meetup of bloggers at KRON4 TV in San Francisco. Lots of familiar faces: Anil Dash, Scott Rafer, Renee Blodgett, Eleanor Kruszewski, Mike Rowehl, Chris Nolan, Chris Newmark -- some heavy blogger firepower there. About 120 folks in all turned out to hear KRON General Manager Mark Antonitis and Nashville blogger/TV consultant Terry Heaton (who just called Darknet "the most important book of the year" on Amazon) talk about the station's commitment to beginning a dialogue with Bay Area bloggers. (Terry snapped the photo above, with me showing how it's done citizens journalism style next to Stanley Roberts, a 30-year cameraman at KRON.) Renee and Terry are among those with early entries on the event.
I'll be posting a couple of short videos I shot during the event on Ourmedia. In addition, there was a one-minute story about today's event that KRON aired on its newscast tonight (Scott Rafer and I were in it, even though Chris Nolan was more articulate).
So I've got it on DVD now, and I can play it on my PC, but I can't copy the VOD file and convert it to a format for playback on the Web. Any ideas on how to do this?

I wanted you to know that I also prepared a longer form (2:02) piece that ran at 9PM and 11PM Saturday. It did include an articulate comment from Chris Nolan.

Hi JD,
It was nice to talk to you on Saturday. I felt like I stumbled a bit on my words, for my brain was running way ahead, but you probably got the gist, heh.
I am a big fan of community and hope that KRON can prove to be a part of that. Bloggers are a finicky bunch, as we all know ;)
