'Da Vinci and the Code'

Some interesting insights about Leonardo and warfare in 16th century Italy in the History Channel's "Da Vinci and the Code He Lived By" (a not-so-subtle allusion to entice fans of The Da Vinci Code. But on the whole, the Sunday night special was disappointing in that it made absolutely no mention of the themes Dan Brown raised in his best-seller, particularly with regard to hidden messages, the blend of the feminine and masculine in his paintings (including The Mona Lisa), or his treatment of the divine feminine life force. Of course, a serious documentary couldn't possibly address subjects that we viewers actually wanted to learn about.
