I have been a big Digg.com fan for a long time now. Not being an American I do know of NBC and CBS though and am unsure how big their online communities are.

I think the thing with digg.com though is that appeals to the tech savvy people out there who know where to look for information quickly and easily. It is like a RSS aggregator for mostly tech related stories that you don't need to subscribe to (there is a feed available also).

This figure will only go up as more people come online and the younger generation who rely more on technology and the internet for their news instead of mainstream media agencies.
