MemoryMiner wins Best of Show

One of the highlights of Macworld last week came when I met the inventor of MemoryMiner. The application won a Macworld 2006 Best of Show award.
MemoryMiner's goal is to create "the world's most extensive network of first-person accounts of modern society and culture" through an application to organize and share digital media by using the metaphor "People, Places and Time." Quite an ambitious undertaking, but they're off to a grand start.
To see the app in action, check out this demo.

I love your subtitle: Charting the rise of Open, Democratic Grassroots Media. I feel very priviledged to live in these times when Grassroots Media IS on the rise. I never knew what I was missing, but I was already well into many years of efforts in archiving my very large extended family's "data". I jumped right in to this program and I love what they are doing. I've been hunting the web for more information about MemoryMiner, and I'm very excited to see it in use by larger groups in networks. Although there are the inevitable kinks to be worked out, it looks very promising. After looking around at your site, and some of the things you are involved in, I am even more excited! Thank you for sharing!
